Iurie Leancă: Moldova might receive in March first tranche of 30 million euro
After an official visit to Brussels, Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Iurie Leancă, assured that Moldova might receive in March the first tranche of 30 million euro, from the 100 million euro macro-financial assistance offered by European Union.
"A team will soon come to evaluate us. I am very pleased that both Mr. Dombrovskis, as well as other representatives of the European Commission, have clearly stated that we have good chances to receive the first tranche in March" Iurie Leancă declared.
Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration has also spoken of extending the Iași-Ungheni gas pipeline to Chisinau.
"We will do our best to finish by the end of this year, what we begun in 2013, to build the Ungheni-Iași gas pipeline to Chisinau and then we will be able to say that we no longer depend on Gazprom" the official declared.
Another subject discussed at Brussels was the possibility for Moldova to export to European Union chicken and eggs.
"We hope that by autumn we will be able to advance faster, perhaps even announce the commission ahead of time that we are ready to invite experts for evaluation. We will further speak about chicken. I wish to know the action plan and we will speak of this subject at the Government. We will see what needs to be done" Iurie Leancă said.
Iurie Leancă announced that in the first half of this year, many high officials from Brussels will visit Republic of Moldova, among whom also counts European Commissioner for Regional Policy, Johannes Hahn.
