Japan appreciates reforms implemented in Moldova and intents to continue cooperation
Chiril Gaburici, the minister of Economy and Infrastructure had a meeting with Masanobu Yoshii, the Japan Ambassador to Republic of Moldova, where they discussed the investment opportunities in our country. Within the dicussion, the Minister of Economy and Infrastructure said that the bilateral cooperation between the Republic of Moldova and Japan is more developed now and appreciated Japan investments in our country.
Among the main investment spheres, Gaburici mentioned the agriculture, that is one of the most important spheres of our country, the investment opportunities offered by the free economic zone. When referring to the fiscal facilities offered to the free economic zones, Chiril Gaburici mentioned TVA discounts for goods.
"We encourage the advantageous projects for the Japan investors by exploring the seven economic zones from our country, inclusively the IT parks from Republic of Moldova, that offer attractive conditions for the foreign investors", said Chiril Gaburici, the minister of Economy and Infrastructure.
At the same time, Chiril Gaburici appreciated the Technic aid worth 37,2 million USD, offered by the Japan Government through Assistance for the Farmers project.
Thus, 7 580 agricultural technique was imported from Japan in Moldova and 3 500 people benefited of it. Also, the minister of Economy and Infrastructure highlighted the importance of implementing the project regarding the efficient use of solid biomass.
The Japan Ambassador mentioned that due to the ZEL facilities and the successful reform realization there was provided the investment safety in our country.
In this context, Masanobu Yoshii reminded about the production factory of the electricity wires and the Sumitomo company that was opened recently in Straseni with a 30 million euros investment and 2 500 jobs and Fujikura company that required a 20 million euros investment, that created over one thousand jobs.
The Ambassador said that this way, Japan is interested to invest in Republic of Moldova both in the agricultural and technology service.
Chiril Gaburici also presented the priorities of the Economy and Infrastructure ministry for this year. He highlighted the investment potential. He said that the Economy and Infrastructure Ministry intends to open Moldova Embassy in Tokyo.
