Employees of the Customs Service prevented an attempt of placing a large amount of jewelry replicas and of component parts on the market.

The violation was detected yesterday on the International Airport Chisinau, at checking the luggage of passengers arrived from Istanbul.

By applying the selective control method, the customs officers redirected the luggage of a citizen of Ukraine, aged 37, to the red corridor, to be exposed to thorough control.

As a result, in the foreign citizen’s suitcase, the customs officers have detected 343 jewelry replicas and approximately 20 kilos of component parts for producing jewelry articles.
