A judge from Drochia has been sentenced to seven years in jail and fined 160,000 lei and deprived the right to serve public positions in 10 years. 

The man is suspected for corruption. 

The magistrate was detained in 2016 following the searches at home, cars, office. 

He promised to help a Moldovan residing in Italy that he would arrange the case to favor her. He requested her 200 euro for consultation. 

Then he asked for 6200 euro to examine the case and adopt decision to favor her.
