Kindergartens are preparing to reopen although it remains unclear when it will happen. The repair works are in full swing in several educational institutions in Chisinau. 

Chisinau allocated 62 million lei from the municipal budget for the repair of educational institutions.

According to the General Directorate of Education, Youth and Sports, renovations will be made in 94 kindergartens this summer. The total budget of the works is 22 million lei.

18 million was allocated for the repair of 30 high schools. This year, renovations will be made in 12 gymnasiums and two primary schools.

Another 841 thousand lei was allocated for the repair of extracurricular institutions. The municipality also aims to open 16 new groups in kindergartens in Chisinau as well as an educational complex.

Kindergartens across Moldova were closed in mid-March due to COVID-19 pandemic.
