The singer Nelu Stratan, the elder brother of another Moldovan singer Pavel Stratan, has died.

He has been at his home in Chisinau, the police confirm. A police spokesman states the preliminary cause of the death is believed to be a heart attack. 

He was born on June 11, 1965, and has played rock and folk.
