Lamb meat 10% cheaper than 2017 ahead Easter
The lamb will be over 10% cheaper this year than in 2017. The price of one kilogram will not reach 75 lei, the producers will pay the insurance.
Specialists of the National Food Safety Agency warn people to buy meat for holidays only from authorized places.
"The products must be accompanied by sanitary veterinary certificates confirming their state of meat," said ANSA Director, Gheorghe Gaberi .
ANSA inspectors went to the slaughterhouse in the Bardar village, Ialoveni, where more than 300 heads will be slaughtered this year.
Entrepreneurs assure that they comply with all the sanitary conditions for lamb cutting and meat preservation.
The Central Capital Market Administration says that every piece of meat on the stalls is thoroughly checked.
The shelf life of lamb is 72 hours. Specialists say people can recognize with the eye whether it is fresh.
"The color of the meat is pale pink, covered with a layer of subcutaneous fat," explained Corneliu Guţu, head of ANSA department.
