Latvia will  share with our country its experience in organizing a fair, free and transparent electoral process. On this subject, Kiev Prime Minister Pavel Filip and Latvian President Raimonds Vejonis agreed today.

The Latvian official said that parliamentary elections have taken place recently in his country, and the Latvian side has a good experience in conducting the polls, including in preventing the interference of outside forces in the electoral process.

Pavel Filip mentioned that the Government is making every effort to organize free and transparent parliamentary elections. To this end, it was also decided to install the cameras in the polling stations to exclude any concerns. At the same time, the electoral process will be monitored by a large number of foreign observers.

Pavel Filip and Raimonds Vejonis had an exchange of views on the European path of the Republic of Moldova . The prime minister stressed that the governance program is based on the Moldova-EU Association Agreement, and the European direction is the only development plan of our country.

In this context, Raimonds Vejonis confirmed Latvia's support for the European course of the Republic of Moldova and the promotion of modernization reforms in the country. The prime minister thanked the Latvian side for the constant support given to our country both on the European and the bilateral level. Last year, Latvia granted our country technical assistance in the amount of over EUR 100 million for the implementation of projects supporting the SME sector, for the sustainable development of the Republic of Moldova and for strengthening the capacity of state institutions.

At the end of the meeting, Pavel Filip congratulated the Latvian people on marking the centenary of proclaiming the independence of the Republic of Latvia, expressing the confidence that the relations between the two states will continue to develop for the benefit of our citizens.
