After several failed transactions, over 41 percent of Moldova Agroindbank shares were sold on the Stock Exchange with 450 million lei. The two packages were purchased by the Public Services Agency.
The transaction comes one month after the Ministry of Finance signed a pre-contract for the sale of these shares to an international consortium of three banks: the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Horizon Capital and the Lithuanian investment company Invalda.
We remind that the National Bank of Moldova was in litigation with the shareholders of Moldova Agroindbank, which accused them of concerted actions behind the No. 1 CIS raider, Veaceslav Platon.
It all happened in 2016 when the 20 shareholders of the institution bought 40 percent of the shares. They were blocked by the Central Bank, and last year the institution gained ground in the process.
