A man who tried to assassinate a councilor from the southern town of Comrat, Vasilii Vasiloglo, will appear in court. He is also indicted of illegal manufacturing and keeping a firearm.

The incident occurred on June 6 in Comrat. Having hostile relations with the plaintiff, the indicted shot him twice, injuring his head and stomach.

Although being operated on, the victim died three months later.

The 29-year-old indicted face a jail term of 20 years.
