Medical Careers Day: Over 13,000 doctors are active in Republic of Moldova
Seven hundred doctors from the country received honorable diplomas from the Ministry of Health on the Occupation of the Medical Worker and Pharmacist. The ministry also launched a spot in which the moments of a doctor's life are played.
Lorina Vudu, 34 years old, is an endocrinologist. The woman comes from a family of doctors, she says she does not think she would choose another profession.
"Being a doctor is not an easy job, it involves self-giving, devotion during 24 hours, throughout the day," said endocrinologist Lorina Vudu.
The Health Minister sent a congratulatory message to all doctors who choose to work in the country.
"Our physicians, colleagues, nurses, laborers, and all those working in the health field must have high-performance working conditions, competitive salaries," said Health Minister Svetlana Cebotari.
Democrat Deputy Valentina Stratan, a medical practitioner, claims that the medical sector needs reforms.
"We in Parliament will fight and will struggle to get more funding from the state budget and get credibility with foreign financiers," said PDM deputy Valentina Stratan.
More than 13,000 doctors are active in the Republic of Moldova.
