Merry Christmas! Christians are celebrating birth of Jesus Christ
It is Christmas, the holiday of light and joy, when families gather together and share their gifts and the warmth fills people's homes.
We entered the great period of carols and good wishes, when peace embraces our souls.
PUBLIKA.MD wishes you a Merry Christmas!
According to the Holy Scriptures, Jesus Christ was born in the city of Bethlehem, in a stable.
The Redeemer was born at night, in the manger, and brought with him light and scattered the darkness.
In some localities, it is an old tradition for the priest to go with the icon, blessing homes and Christians. Tradition says that on Christmas the sky opens and God is seen by the good people sitting with the saints and angels at the table.
It is said that a child born this day will be lucky his entire life.
On this day, old style Orthodox Christians celebrate Saint Spiridon. The martyr was born in a simple family and during his childhood shepherd.
