Minister of Economy and Infrastructure, Chiril Gaburici, met today with director of Swiss Cooperation Office in Moldova, Simone Giger.
During the meeting, the officials spoke of the new Cooperation Strategy between Moldova and Switzerland for 2018 - 2021, where Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation pledges to offer Moldova technical assistance worth 50.9 million Swiss francs. The strategy will be presented at Chisinau, when a delegation from the Government of Switzerland will be visiting Moldova, between April 16-18.
Chiril Gaburici expressed his gratitude for the help Switzerland offered Republic of Moldova through the Swiss Cooperation Office and plead for extension of cooperation, for Switzerland to share its expertise in the IT and communication field, as well as energy efficiency.
Minister of Economy and Infrastructure was also grateful for the fact that financial assistance offered within Strategic Cooperation with Republic of Moldova for 2014-2017 doubled, Moldova having received assistance worth over 55 million Swiss francs.
In her turn, Simone Giger highlighted that Swiss Cooperation Office will offer assistance to further improve the business environment in Moldova, by reducing obstacles met in regulating and attracting investors, while key sectors for implications are those with most potential in creating new jobs.
According to the official information, in Republic of Moldova are registered 98 enterprises with Swiss capital, worth around 434 million lei, while trade with Switzerland reached 75.8 million USD.
