Minister Svetlana Cebotari visited the Oncological Institute to get rid of consultation fees
Minister of Health, Labor and Social Protection, Svetlana Cebotari visited on March 20 the Oncological Institute to see how investigations and consultations are made within the institution, after many people wrote on social networks that some request unofficial payment to see a doctor.
Therefore, Minister spoke with patients to inquire the quality of offered medical services, the treatment and issues of this institution. Patients proved to be satisfied with the staff and the offered treatment, mentioning that some wards require to be repaired, provided with new furniture and medical equipment.
The official ensured them that the Ministry is doing all it can for this institution to gain the necessary conditions, so that patients will receive better treatments.
Therefore, Svetlana Cebotari requested the institution's administration to completely eliminate any fees for medical consultations, as they are supposed to be completely free of charge within the center.
The official also spoke with the staff on the importance of efficient communication with patients and change of attitude.
"Many times words can treat better than drugs. I am sure that together, by joining our efforts, we can ensure a modern medical system and be closer to patients" Minister Svetlana Cebotari said.
