Minister Tudor Ulianovschi had a meeting with a members of Moldovan Diaspora in Greece
Defense and promotion of Moldovan citizens' rights and interests abroad is one of the main priorities in the activity of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration and diplomatic missions abroad, Minister Tudor Ulianovschi stressed during the meeting yesterday evening with representatives of the Moldovan Diaspora Greece.
In the framework of the dialogue with representatives of the Moldovan Diaspora, the Moldovan-Greek Friendship Union "Alexandros Ipsilantis", the Moldovan-Hellenic Community "Orpheus" and the Moldovan-Hellenic Community "TYRAS", the head of the Moldovan diplomacy made a review of the main actions taken by the Government to reform and modernize the country, and reconfirmed the fact that Moldovan citizens' support, both inside and outside the country, is one of the priority objectives of the Government and MFAEI agenda. The minister also talked about the investment prospects of the members of the diaspora in the national economy, as well as the dynamization of their involvement in cultural and social projects both in the country and in the states of residence.
Representatives of the diaspora, in turn, reported about their activities in Greece, particularly describing the actions they are taking to promote the cultural specifics, national traditions and customs in the Hellenic Republic, including those organized jointly with the Embassy of Greece in Athens.
The dialogue held an exchange of views on the political and socio-economic developments in the country, especially in the context of the parliamentary elections in February 2019, country development programs, business opportunities and state support to this end , creating new jobs, etc. Representatives of the Diaspora also pointed out some problems they are facing, asking the Moldovan authorities to find solutions for the study of Romanian language in the schools where many children of their nationals are enrolled, elaborating a more efficient and operative information mechanism on the projects proposed by the authorities for the environment business and diaspora, the identification of direct contacts between the competent institutions of the diaspora and the necessary support in organizing and promoting events promoting national culture, traditions and customs, etc.
In this context, Minister Tudor Ulianovschi expressed appreciation for the work of the Moldovan diaspora in Greece on a cultural line, an important aspect for promoting the good image of the country and noted that all proposals submitted by the diaspora representatives will be examined and solutions identified for their solution.
At the same time, Minister Ulianovschi encouraged the maintenance of an open and active dialogue with the Embassy and the Ministry in order to identify the best methods and ways of promoting and defending the interests and rights of every citizen of the Republic of Moldova, regardless of his / her place of residence.
