Mobile internet revenues soar in Moldova in first half of year
Moldavian operators' mobile internet revenues increased by 18.3 percent year-on-year to over MDL 327.1 million in H1, according to data from telecommunications authority ANRCETI.
Moldcell's sales rose 28 percent to MDL 86.6 million, Orange Moldova's sales rose 18.3 percent to MDL 191.6 million and sales of Moldtelecom increased by 4.5 percent to MDL 48.9 million.
The number of mobile broadband users (3G, LTE and dedicated access) grew by 8.6 percent compared to the end of 2015 to 1.581 million and internet traffic increased by 22 percent to 23.562 million GB in the first half.
The number of 4G/LTE end-users grew by 67 percent compared to the end of 2015 to over 221,500. ARPU of dedicated mobile internet users was MDL 77.4, and mobile broadband ARPU was MDL 36.
