Moldova - World Capital of Wine Tourism under the aegis of the UN in 2018
Economy Minister Chiril Gaburici has requested an Action Plan for Tourism Promotion in a discussion with State Secretary Vitalie Iurcu, Director of the Tourism Agency Stanislav Rusu, Director of the Moldovan Export and Investment Promotion Organization (MIEPO) Vitalie Zaharia.
In the talks, Minister Chiril Gaburici highlighted the need to exploit the potentials of nationwide tourism.
"Tourism is one of Economy Ministry's priorities. We need to conduct more open, constructive dialogues with representatives from all fields, to promote Moldova at international level, to develop regional tourism, to make Moldova attractive in foreigners' eyes", said Economy Minister Chiril Gaburici.
The Tourism Agency presented the results of 2017 and plan for 2018, including the participation in international exhibitions and fairs, the development of regional tourism, the organization of the World Wine Tourism Conference, etc
"Moldova will become the World Capital of Wine Tourism under the aegis of the UN in 2018. This decision is a victory for the image of our country as a tourist destination, "Stanislav Rusu reiterated.
Additionally, the officials proposed to extend the project Be my guest and name 2018 as Hospitality Year in Moldova.
