The national television Moldova 1 launched an Appeal expressing its disagreement with the Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS) and the Platform for Dignity and Truth (PPDA) to discredit and defame the image of national television through aggressive press actions and interference in editorial policy.
The appeal mentions that the TV station team has been the target of unfounded allegations since the launch of the PPDA protests.
"Things resurfaced on September 17, as part of the protest that took place in front of Moldova 1 television. The PPDA and PAS leaders promoted slanderous, aggressive messages and lacking a factual basis. The television director's attempts to establish a dialogue with the leaders PAS and PPDA have failed because protest leaders have not allowed him to express his point of view, "it says in the appeal, writes trm.md.
Moreover, the appeal also states that the protesters did not summarize the voicing and forwarding of the claims, but verbally attacked both the leadership of the television and the shooting teams that were doing their job.
In this context, Moldova 1 appeals to international institutions and media NGOs to take a stand on pressures on public television.

Today, at a press conference, the PAS and PPDA leaders reiterated that they were urging the Moldova 1 to give the opposition one hour of broadcasting per week. They also said that if public television did not come up with a response by Friday or would come up with a negative answer, the two parties reserve the right to resume the protests on Sunday.
