Moldova needs US $ 106M for socio-economic recovery following COVID-19 pandemic
UN Moldova and the Moldovan Government have developed an updated COVID-19 response and socio-economic recovery plan.
The plan is intended to reduce the country's vulnerability to the pandemic, allowing a transparent and efficient recovery process, while respecting human rights, gender mainstreaming.
The socio-economic response framework consists of five strategic pillars to protect the needs and rights of people living under the effects of the pandemic, with a particular focus on the most vulnerable and marginalized groups and individuals, and those at risk of being left behind:
· Health Priority
· Protection of people
· Economic response and recovery
· Macroeconomic response and multilateral collaboration
· Social cohesion and community resilience.
The total budget of the Plan is 106 million US dollars, of which 12 million US dollars have already been identified with the sport of 18 donors. The plan contains 99 projects and actions through over 40 partnerships.
