Moldova obtains two medals and honorable mention in European Mathematics Olympiad for Girls
Moldova's students have won a silver medal, a bronze medal and an honorable mention at the European Mathematics Olympiad for Girls, 7th edition. The contest took place from 9 to 15 April 2018 in Florence, Italy.
The silver medal was awarded to Otilia Don, the bronze medal to Sabina Tontici and the mention of honor - Rusandei Guzun. They are students at the Orizont Theoretical High School, Chisinau.
The Moldovan team was represented by four students and two teachers:
Otilia Don, 12th grade, Orizont Theoretical High School, Chisinau;
Rusanda Guzun, 10th grade, Orizont Theoretical High School, Chisinau;
Sabina Tontici, 12th grade, Orizont Theoretical High School, Chisinau;
Sanda-Maria Ciobanu, 9th grade, Nicolae Iorga Theoretical High School, Chisinau;
Valeriu Baltag, Ph.D. in Physics and Mathematics, senior scientific researcher, Institute of Mathematics and Computer Science;
Marcel Teleucă, Ph.D. in Physics and Mathematical Sciences, University Lecturer, Orizont Theoretical High School, Chisinau.
195 students from 52 countries participated in the Olympics including 36 European countries and 16 invited countries.
The Ministry of Education, Culture and Research and the National Agency for Curriculum and Assessment congratulate all prize winners, teachers, parents and wish them successes.
