Moldova to receive €13.5M to build facility for animal waste destruction/processing
The Ministry of Finance and the International Development Association have signed a financing agreement worth 13.5 million euros for the project "Competitive Agriculture in Moldova MAC-P".
According to the Ministry of Finance, the money will be used for the construction of a facility for the destruction / processing of animal waste not intended for human consumption, which would be a real solution to maintain the favorable epizootic situation in the country, including environmental protection, and facilitate the inclusion of Moldova in the list of countries with the right to export animal husbandry products to the European Union.
Additional funds will also be allocated to ensure the effective coordination and management of the project, including the ongoing provision of financial audit, the functioning of the grievance mechanism, monitoring and evaluation and other aspects that allow for implementation.
The implementation period of the project is between 2020 and 2024.
The interest rate on the loan is currently 0.45% per annum. In addition, the payment of the service fee in the amount of about 0.75% per year is provided.
