Moldovan candidate for Nobel Peace Prize 2019 Ion Lazarenco to debut country promotion plan. What will he do?
The Moldovan candidate for Nobel Peace Prize 2019 Ion Lazarenco will take part in the 13th annual Earth Day National Symposium scheduled on 15-21 April in Romania.
It's first action to promote the country image and the peace supported by Ion Lazarenco. For this campaign, the Executive has allocated 1 million lei.
"We're obliged to appreciate people who add good values to the country. Actually the first message we should promote is to appreciate the Republic of Moldova. We're obliged to love our country", said PM Pavel Filip.
Under the Action Plan, Ion Lazarenco's candidacy is to be promoted internationally through various activities that will help inform society about his achievements and the peace and unity messages promoted by swimming.
Lazarenco, originally from the Republic of Moldova who currently lives and trains in Ireland, was voted as the 2018 World Open Water Swimming Man of the Year and was inducted in the Hall of Fame – Marathon Swimming Ireland as an Honour Swimmer, Class of 2019, and was named one of the World's 50 Most Adventurous Open Water Men.
In addition to becoming the eighth person in history and first from Republic of Moldova to complete the Oceans Seven, he was also the first person from Moldova to achieve both the Triple Crown of Open Water Swimming and the Frosted Triple Crown of Open Water Swimming
He completed the 235 km Swimming Marathon Nistru – Unites Moldova on the River Nistru in Moldova in 8 days, a Swim of Peace in Tunisia with Nejib Belhedi, and a 100 km 3-day Swim of Peace with Avram Iancu of Romania on the river Prut between Romania and the Republic of Moldova.
