PM Pavel Filip convened a meeting with leadership of the Moldovan Academy of Sciences (MAS) and a group of scholars Thursday. The officials discuss reforms in field of research and innovation. 

PM Filip mentioned that research and innovation was necessary to focus on performance and quality. 

"Until reform, the leadership of Academy worked not just for science but also for heritage management. Now the MAS no longer has to deal with maintenance of institution building and budget distribution so it can focus directly on science. Thanks to the reform, ASM becomes the strategic consultant of Government in field of research and innovation", said PM Filip. 

According to the PM Filip, the problem of financial resources is tackled. 

"If we restore order in field of research and innovation, we will survive but also develop. With the reforms, we want to save and revive the Academy so that we can have a pride of national science", said PM Filip.
