Moldovan citizens to benefit from equitable pension system
The pension reform provides equity for all citizens to retire after the same formula and privileged social payments to disappear.
Moldovans who will retire next year will benefit from immediate consequence and will receive higher payments from the state. In some cases, the pensions will double.
The project provides a clear formula that will provide citizens with the opportunity to calculate their own pension. Parents that take care of a child with special need with benefit from better calculation.
"The reform assumes a decent living perspective by a new formula." , said Deputy Minister of Labour, Viorica Dumbraveanu.
The document also sets the same retirement age and seniority at work for different categories of beneficiaries.
"This reform requires equity in the system. We still have groups of people who retire with standards inside. The reforms provides for every person, regardless, if you're a judge, prosecutor, public servant, a doctor, a teacher, all will retire at the same time and by the same calculation formula" , said CNAS manager, Laura Grecu.
Experts believe that this reform should be carried out in parallel with the reform of public administration.
" It is important for the Government to ensure appropriate communication for the population to understand that the reform of the pension system is not just about increasing the retirement age. It's about formula changes that will take into consideration the inflation" , said the Executive Director of "Expert-Grup" , Adrian Lupusor.
People welcome the provisions of the reform initiative and argue that it will bring justice in the pension system.
If the bill is approved by the Parliament, starting with 2017, the National Social Insurance House will be the only institution to establish and pay pensions. In this way, greater transparency in the management of public money will be ensured.
The new document will not influence the conditions and method of determining the pension for persons employed in the security forces.
