Moldovan farmers to harvest more wheat
The wheat harvest will be 10% bigger this year in Moldova compared to last year. And this happens despite planting an area 10% smaller.
Agriculture minister Eduard Grama has made these specifications.
"The harvest prediction is better and we’re going to have almost a million tonnes of wheat, there were 931 tonnes of wheat last year," he said.
341,000 hectares of wheat had been planted last year, and 310,000 hectares in 2016.
Eduard Grama opines a bigger wheat harvest is not going to influence its price.
