Moldovan fruit growers to get access to low-interest loans
The Moldovan orchardists will be able to receive low-interest loans of up to 5 million euros in a new project called ‘Livada Moldovei’, launched today.
"Even though the cost rises after investing, the demand for natural, tasty fruit is high on markets. There is a big chance that our fruit becomes the jewel in the crown of the Moldovan exports", said premier Pavel Filip, at the launch ceremony.
The loans will be provided to farmers planting orchards and related facilities for a ten-year term, at an interest of 5.5 %.
The Government plans to invest in horticulture EUR120 million -- a loan from the European Bank of Investments. The loan will be return in 12 years, with an interest 1,5%.
