Moldovan-Georgian partnership discussed by PM Pavel Filip and Giorgi Kvirikashvili
At the meeting of heads of government of the member countries of GUAM, Prime Minister Pavel Filip held meeting with Prime Minister of Georgia, Giorgi Kvirikashvili. The talks focused on strengthening bilateral relations and partnership development between Moldova and Georgia, both bilaterally and within international organizations.
Prime Minister Pavel Filip welcomed the completion of the liberalization of EU visa regime for citizens of Georgia, stressing that this is a step towards achieving the country's European course. In this sense, Pavel Filip noted the good cooperation between Moldova and Georgia in the segment of European integration and the importance of exchanging experience in this area, particularly through cooperation within the Eastern Partnership and in the implementation of Free Trade Agreement deep and Moldova-EU comprehensive.
Also, Filip and Kvirikashvili mentioned the importance of developing political dialogue aimed at boosting trade relations, emphasizing the training session of the Georgian inter-governmental commission on trade and economic cooperation, which will take place from 27 to 28 April 2017, at Tbilisi.
"I am confident that this meeting will boost the economic cooperation and will enhance the relations between Moldova and Georgia will accelerate the European path of both countries" , said Pavel Filip.
Meanwhile, the head of the Chisinau Executive spoke about our interest for taking best practice from Georgia in reforming the justice, internal affairs, defense, and in the diversification of energy sources, promoting exports and attracting investments.
At the end of the meeting, Prime Minister Pavel Filip invited his Georgian counterpart to make an official visit to Moldova.
