A girl aged 8 from the central district of Telenești was raped by a neighbor. The man first invited her to his house allegedly to help him about the household.

According to prosecutors, the rape happened last week, but the girl told her mother later. The medical examination found traces of sexual abuse.

The 51-year-old man now is in custody facing 15 years in jail or even a life term.
