A police detective from the southern district of Cantemir has been detained for committing torture.

According to prosecutors, in April 2016, the police officer beat up three young men (two of them minors) so as to make them confess into committing a theft.

The victims filed complaints against the officer, but he continued his violent actions on them, pressing them to withdraw their complaint and to testify to his favor.

Now the police officer is in 30-day custody.
