Moldovan political repressions' victims losing assets to get compensations
The victims of the political repressions, who lost their assets as a result of nationalization or confiscation, will get financial assistance in form of compensation to recover their value.
The cabinet today took a decision on the matter by approving two rulings on earmarking financial means.
Thus, under the decisions approved, the allocation of financial means for the payment of compensations will be carried out from the state budget. The sum amounts to 10.6 million lei for 110 beneficiaries from different Moldovan districts, including the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia, and will be provided according to the value of the wealth confiscated or lost.
Under the procedure, if the assets do not exceed the sum of 200,000 lei, the payment of the compensation to the beneficiary may be rescheduled for a period of up to three years, and in case the assets’ values exceeds 200,000 lei, the period of payment will be extended up to five years.
