Prime Minister Pavel Filip has met the deputy assistant of the Secretary of State, Bridget Brink.

The Premier has thanked the American official for the steady support the U.S. provide to Moldova in implementing structural reforms and modernizing the country.

In this regard, Pavel Filip has mentioned the recent deal with the International Monetary Fund, which a trust certificate of Moldova in the eyes of its foreign partners.

"If 2016 has been a year of crisis management and stabilization of the situation, 2017 is going to be a year of development and economic growth," the Cabinet chief said. He has added implementing the Association Deal with the EU remains an absolute priority of the government.

The Premier has notified the US official as to the Cabinet’s priorities: reforming the pensioning system, the public administration, the public acquisitions, hospitals and primary healthcare, and budget transparency.

Bridget Brink has congratulated the Chișinău Government for the achievements attained in its first year of rule: "The accord with the IMF is a positive sign for the international community and shows you’re on the right path.”

The U.S. official has encouraged the Government to continue reforming the judiciary, to enhance efforts in fighting corruption and human trafficking and to insure more transparency in the public administration.

Bridget Brink says the U.S.A. will consider possibilities of supporting the reform of the Moldovan public administration.

The officials have also touched upon the Transnistrian issue, agreeing the conflict must be solved within the 5+2 format. They have expressed hope the talks will resume soon.
