Moldovan sportsman Ion Lazarenco passed the new challenge. Yesterday he crossed the Catalina Channel in California. The swimmer passed the course of 33 kilometers and he does not want to stop here.

On 1 October 2016 Lazarenco will cross the Molokai Channel in Hawaii, swimming 42 kilometers.

Both crossing the Catalina Channel and the Molokai Channel are supported financially by Vlad Plahotniuc’s Edelweiss Foundation.

The 37-year-old sportsman, living in Ireland, plans to cross the world’s seven biggest bays.

Until now he crossed the English Channel, Gibraltar Bay and Canal du Nord.
