Moldovans won gold at International Reading Olympics
National Olympic team has returned home with a gold medal, a mention and special awards from the International Reading Olympics, which was held from September 1st to 5th, 2016 in Constanta village, Romania.
The event was organized by the Ministry of National Education and Scientific Research in Romania, bringing together over 60 participants from Romania, Moldova, Ukraine and Cyprus.
Mihaela Eşanu, student at "Gheorghe Asachi" high school from Chisinau is the gold medal holder.
The mention was obtained by Anastasia Cretu, a student at "Prometheus-Prime" high school in Chişinău.
Other students obtained special prizes.
However, in appreciation, Vasile Gribincea Award winning Olympian received the Prefecture Prize Constanta for high prestige and reliability, proven in the contest.
International Reading Olympiad is organized to develop students' reading skills, promote the values of linguistic, literary and artistic education in schools by addressing reading as a skill for life.
Moldova participated for the third time in the competition, this year's result being the best.
