Moldova's Armed Forces are taught by German experts on Transportation of Dangerous Goods
Drivers from the Armed Forces of the Republic of Moldova are being taught by German experts how to safely transport dangerous items.
The event takes place between April 17 - May 8 2018, at the 142nd military camp from Chisinau, organized by the Defense Ministries of Republic of Moldova and Germany.
According to Head of Logistics of the General Staff, Colonel Iurie Brumă, for 3 weeks, 20 drivers will be taught the procedures and norms for packing and transporting dangerous goods, techniques to mark the vehicles and actions to be taken in case of crashes.
The source declared that the lessons will be finished with an exam, offering drivers the qualification for transporting dangerous items, including ammunition, respecting all national and international standards, not only in Republic of Moldova, but within all 50 members states that signed European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR).
The training is part of a project financed by Germany, which also foresees the donation of 5 new trucks, worth 1.5 million Euro. The vehicles will be brought to Republic of Moldova by the end of this year.
The training is part of a project implemented under OSCE, starting 2014. It is unfolding with the support of Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Sweden and Canada. It aims to increase security at the ammunition storage from Republic of Moldova and to minimize the risks and threats during operations with dangerous goods.
