The problems linked to voting abroad by the Diaspora are not caused by the Foreign Ministry, but by the law. The statement was made by Foreign Minister Andrei Galbur, at a media briefing.
He mentioned the legal norm by which no polling station can receive and manage more than 3,000 ballots.
"The Foreign Ministry expresses its deep regret as to this situation, but I want to assure you the Ministry did its best within the extant legal frame. What the clerks from the polling stations could do was to redirect the people to other polling stations and provide assistance in writing down the complaints, what was done," Galbur said.
More citizens could not vote abroad because the stations ran out of ballots at the presidential elections.
