Moldova's steps in cybersecurity. First research laboratory has been opened
Moldova has taken the first steps in ensuring cybersecurity. Within the Technical University the first laboratory research in this area has been opened. Both young specialists and employees of state institutions will be trained to cope with hacker attacks and prevent them. Creating the lab was made possible with the NATO suport.
Two other projects were also launched and will be implemented by the Ministry of Defence. A cell will be created that will counteract the risks and threats arising from cyber attacks. An action plan for implementation of UN Resolution on the role of women in peace will also be drafted. Given that information technologies are being developed rapidly, the authorities promise to take all measures to prevent any attack on national security.
"At this stage, the drafting requirements for security and integrity of electronic communications networks are in the final process, meaning operators will receive a set of regulations from the Government that will have to follow strictly. The requirements of cyber security for public institutions document is a joint product of the entire administration and in the shortest time will be submitted to the Government for approval" , said Deputy Minister of Information Technology, Vitalie Tarlerv.
