Republic of Moldova's Ambassador to Qatar, Valeriu Tihonov has passed away at the age of 65.

Representatives from Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration have expressed their condolences Valeriu Tihonov's family:

"We have lost a great man with exceptional professional qualities. Valeriu Tihonov has brought a great contribution in the bilateral development of the Moldova- Qatar relations, being the first Ambassador to ever be sent from Republic of Moldova to Qatar."
