A monument dedicated to the participants in the liquidation of the Chernobyl disaster's consequences will be built in Ocnița. A decision in this regard has been approved at today's Government meeting.

The expenses for the design, execution, monument construction and the complex development will be covered by the Ocniţa district budget, as well as from donations and sponsorship.

Likewise, with purpose of eternity of the political man Ion Costin, deputy in Sfatul Țării, Chisinau Mayor from 1933 to 1937, and on the occasion of the 130th anniversary of his birth, Ion Costin's bust will be edited in the village of Ghidighici, Chisinau.

33 people from Ocnita district participated in the liquidation of the consequences of the Chernobyl accident, 25 of whom are still alive.
