Multiple magistrates from Court of Appeal refused to examine Ilan Şor's case
Multiple magistrates from the Court of Appeal refused to examine the case of Orhei's Mayor, Ilan Şor. According to the institution's spokesman, in the first case, from the three magistrates, Silvia Vrabie and Xenofon Ulianovschi have withdrawn.
The latter claimed his reasoning to be that his brother is the lawyer of former PLDM deputy, Chiril Lucinschi. While in the second case, Oxana Robu and Igor Mânăscurtă refused to examined the case, as they manage Veaceslav Platon's case, where Şor is listed as an eyewitness. Finally, it was decided that Stelian Teleucă, Svetlana Balmuş and Alexandru Spoială will examine the file.
In June 2017, Ilan Şor was sentenced to seven years and a half behind bars for scam and money laundering in one of the cases of the bank fraud scandal. The sentence was given by the Court from Chişinău.
