National Army Day celebrated at the Defense Ministry
The Ministry of Defense celebrated the National Army Day.
An exhibition of guns was organized.
Some children were playing war in the yard of the Minister:"I want to become a soldier. -Why? -Because I want to fight."
Hundreds of people came at the event. People received free food:
"Beans and pork, chicken, juice."
A concert was organized for the visitors.
The Moldovan soldier say that they are proud of the uniform they wear:
"-How will u celebrate?
-I will celebrate with my colleagues and friends."
The National army is changing now. In March, Vlad Plahotniuc, the President of the Democratic Party came up with the initiative to give up on the compulsory military service. He advice to involve in army the professional soldiers.
"We will be based on good working conditions. We invest a lot in the infrastructure of the service. We put a bigger accent on the benefits of the military service. For example, we stated offering service apartments for the soldiers", said Eugen Sturza, the Ministry of Defense.
The National Army Day is celebrated on September 3. In 1991, the first president of Moldova, Mircea Snegu signed the decree regarding this holiday.
