New Emergency Room opened for patients in Volontiri village
Taking properly care of patients does not depends fully on the physicians, a good part also comes from the used equipment. It became the main reason why hospitals in our country keep being renovated. The newest project was the renovation of the emergency department from Volintiri village, Ştefan Vodă district. This institution attends to eight thousand people from five different regions.
Medical Assistance and Emergency drivers claimed that the old building had no connection to the water canal and the walls were coming apart, making the building nearly impossible to work in.
"We had to make the bathroom ourselves, people have needs. Even patients used the bathroom we made".
"In this room we would attend to the patients, given them injections. There was a sink here, we would fill it with water and wash our hands".
The new emergency room will allow employees to take a show and have a kitchen at their disposal.
"We can now take a shower after a house call. Sometimes we have to drive four hundred km around the region and it would only be polite to look properly once you arrive at the patients home".
Patients are also happy with the new environment.
"For a village like Volontiri this is a very good thing, since we live in the middle of nowhere, emergency care might be crucial for some people".
"Modern equipment makes the physician's job easier and even the patients feel safer" Mayor of Volintiri, Nicolae Moiseev said.
The new Emergency Room projects costed 650 thousand lei. The money were offered by the National Center for Pre-Hospital Emergency Medical Assistance. This year six institutions from the country were renovated, six of which have begun offering their services since this summer. Authorities plan to renovate 12 more hospitals by the end of the year.
