Octavian Armaşu on First House: People can buy houses, apartments everywhere in country
The First House program, officially launched on Wednesday, is a national project which is applied to citizens aged between 18 and 45 years. Credit to purchase apartment is offered in lei as the buyers don't bear the risk of currency fluctuation.
In order to explain further the program, the Finance Minister Octavian Armaşu was invited to the Fabrika show last evening.
According to him, interest is now set at 9.03 percent, but this will be reviewed every six months.
"Interest is fixed by the program manager who is ODIMM and is reset twice per year depending on how interest rates fluctuate on the market.
"We already see a downward trend in the rates and probably the next interest rate will be lower", said Finance Minister Octavian Armaşu.
The minister said that people can buy a house or apartment in any place in the country, provided the dwelling is put into operation.
"We do not accept objects in the process of construction. In the past, construction companies who accept money from investors and eventually lacked money and did not finish the project. We don't want the citizens to suffer this situation," said the Minister.
Moreover, the Finance Ministry is working on a mechanism to support the budget - paid employees who will apply the First House program is to be presented within two months.
