National Unity Party candidate for Chisinau's Mayoralty Octavian Ţîcu requested the investigation of President Igor Dodon for treason. 

"I want to announce an initiative as a legislative initiative, the Parliament draft decision on the establishment of the Commission of Inquiry for investigating the treason committed by President Igor Dodon," Ţîcu said.

Ţîcu noted the gist that Publika.md had published several videos, in which Igor Dodon admitted receiving money from the Russians to finance Socialist Party. 

"It is necessary to initiate an investigation to clarify some factual and legal circumstances in this case,".

Octavian Ţîcu asked PAS and PPDA MPs to support this legislative initiative. 

Representatives of bloc ACUM has yet commented on this decision. 

Publika.md in June published several films which show Igor Dodon said to Vlad Plahotniuc he received up to 1 million dollars per month from the Russians.

When the films were spread on the press, Igor Dodon denied the authenticity of these videos. However, he later admitted on a show of a private television that he had such discussions with Plahotniuc, but everything was just a...joke!
