Orthodox Christians celebrate today, January 6th, the Epiphany, the day the Lord Jesus Christ was baptized by John the Baptist.
It is said that the holy water heals wounds and is kept in the house for peace and quiet. According to the popular tradition, the harvest will be rich if the day will be cold and it will snow.
Christians celebrate Epiphany in the old style of January 19th.
