OSCE observers announce when they will air their assessments of presidential election
The international observers monitoring the presidential election in Moldova will present their preliminary post-election statement at a news conference on Monday, 31 October, in Chisinau.
The mission is a joint undertaking of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (OSCE/ODIHR), the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly (OSCE PA), the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) and the European Parliament (EP).
The statement will be delivered by Arta Dade, Special Co-ordinator and leader of the short-term OSCE observer mission, followed by Elisabeth Schneider-Schneiter, Head of the PACE delegation, Geir Joergen Bekkevold, Head of the OSCE PA delegation, Igor Soltes, Head of the EP delegation, and Douglas Wake, Head of the OSCE/ODIHR election observation mission.
The International Election Observation Mission comprises 280 observers from 41 countries, including 209 long-term and short-term observers deployed by the OSCE/ODIHR, 34 parliamentarians and staff from the OSCE PA, 24 from PACE and 11 from the EP.
