Moldova's president Nicolae Tinofti has cast the ballot. He has made the most laconic statement, saying he's voted for quiet and peace in the country .

According to the Central Election Commission, all the polling stations run smoothly, as 2.83 million electors are expected to cast their votes.

The CEC accredited 3,764 observers, 562 – from abroad.

The first preliminary results of the suffrage will be announced by 22:00, Moldova time.
