Over 1 500 smoke detectors installed in people's houses
The General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations of MAI continues the National Campaign "A safe house, a safe life". IGSU rescues and firemen went in people's houses to install smoke detector and people benefited of a training about how to deal in an emergency situation.
Many families from Todiresti and Napadeni villages from Ungheni, Zarnesti from Cahul district and Codru town took part at the training. People know many things about the risks and the firemen offered them useful advice to prevent the installations against smoke. Only in Ungheni district, the firemen in common with the public authorities bought over 500 smoke detectors and in Cahul district there will be installed almost 1 000 installations. They will be installed in the homes of people at risk of carbon monoxide fires and poisoning. Beneficiaries of the National Campaign "A sheltered home, a saved life" are old people, families with many children, disabled people and bedridden people.
The Minister of Internal Affairs provided 96 thousand lei to buy the smoke detectors. Initially, over 800 families from the country will live safer now, due to the new installations. The campaign will be realized by IGSU during 2018. The first installations were installed on February 19, in Fauresti viillage, Chisinau.
