Over 3 500 police officers and carabiniers will ensure public order on May 9. The announcement was made during a press briefing with chief of General Directorate for Public Security of General Police Inspectorate, Marin Maxian.
"On May 9, in Republic of Moldova will unfold 276 events, especially in the hearts of districts and cities. Law enforcement evaluated all risks and established zones posing more threats. Over 3 500 officers and carabiniers and security agencies will ensure public order on May 9. The number of patrol officers was also doubled in residential areas" Maxian declared.
While chief of National Patrol Inspectorate, Livii Baziuc, announced that today, starting 13:00 repetitions will begin for the concert that will take place this evening in the Great National Assembly Square, therefore traffic will be suspended from Puşkin street to Bodoni street.
Drivers are urged to abide the indications of patrol officers. Citizens who wish to attend the concert are also requested to use public transport.
Baziuc announced that on May 9, starting 09:00 are planned numerous events that will take place in the Great National Assembly Square and Eternitate Memorial Complex. Many rallies will also be held in Capital.
The number of patrol officers will also increase on highways.
"Multiple measures will be taken. We urge citizens to fully enjoy this holiday. We will do everything possible to ensure that there will be no incidents" Livii Baziuc declared.
