The World Health Organization announced on its Facebook page that the concentrators were delivered to Moldova by the European Union and the WHO as part of the EU's "Solidarity for Health" initiative.

Concentrators have been put into operation to ensure the continuous flow of oxygen to COVID-19 patients.

The director of the Institute of Phthisiopneumology "Chiril Draganiuc" from the Capital, Sofia Alexandru, claims that these devices are of major importance in the treatment of patients with lung diseases and those diagnosed with COVID-19, which requires immediate intubation to support vital body functions. .

Earlier, in July, a batch of medical masks, respirators, goggles and gowns for medical staff were brought in Moldova within the same project.

The project of the European Union and the WHO Regional Office "Solidarity for Health" is intended to fight the coronavirus, but also to strengthen the capacities of Eastern Partnership countries such as Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine.

The project is present for a period of two years, with a budget of over 30 million euros.
