Over 50 Moldovans and Romanians were freed from slavery by law enforcement from the United Kingdom. The people were lured to UK by a citizen of Romania who promised them a well paid job. There, victims were kept in horrid conditions and forced to work on construction sites under the threat of physical harm.
They were discovered after law enforcement have arrested in London a 20-year-old man and searched 5 houses. Police officers believe that they have yet to find all the victims.
The investigation continues, while the former slaves will be returned to their home countries. If found guilty, the man risks to 20 years of imprisonment.
